Meenakari enamel

Enamel is fired glass: it keeps its colour for generations but dislikes knocks and chemicals. Put your piece on after perfume and cosmetics, keep it away from household cleaners, and store it so it cannot rub against other jewellery.

Polki and foil-backed stones

Foil-backed settings should never be soaked. Keep the piece dry, wipe gently with a soft dry cloth after wearing, and avoid ultrasonic cleaners entirely.

Gilded silver

Gold plating over silver mellows with wear. Store pieces in airtight pouches away from humidity; a gentle polish with a dry jewellery cloth restores the shine.
